Novell gets beat up a lot for their marketing. But lately, there are a lot of signs that Novell is getting it when it comes to marketing. I've seen many times with organizations that I work with that people will gather around and attempt to come up with the best idea they can about a project. Opinions will be shared, arguments will be argued, and positions will be staked out. Everyone looking for the best thing. Then, when the solution is delivered, it is often impossible for the organization to actively evaluate the success or failure of their idea and make ongoing adjustments. In this case, I'm talking about Novell and their attempt to define themselves and, to use my term, to find their word. They have been using the word Open as in Open Enterprise, Open Collaboration, Open Whatever. It hasn't worked. I've been one to quite vocally point out that it isn't a good word to own. Well, it appears that Novell is listening. (Not to me, but to the market) I've heard rumors that free porn Novell is now realizing that the word Open isn't working for them. For whatever reason, (I put forth some really good ones here), this is very good news. Novell is realizing the importance of adjusting to the market, listening to their customers, and making sure their message resonates. It looks like they are going to sex toy dump the Open word and concentrate on Interoperability. I'm hoping they come up with a better word than that one. This is one sex tits of the keys to success. You must adjust free porn and adapt on a continuous basis. Honing your message until it resonates clearly. Novell is still struggling but is going in the right direction. The Teaming + Conferencing product has a great chanced of gaining free toy some traction. There is a need and Novell has many of the pieces in place. Novell has been beating free sex toy the drum of heterogeneous environments. Novell GroupWise is a multi-platform product. There are customers free sex toy running GroupWise in an all Windows Environment. Now comes Teaming. It will run on Linux and Windows. This provides flexibility in your decision making about deploying a solution that doesn't lock you in to an all or nothing proposition with Microsoft. This is important. (2008/07/27 13:28:02)
